Tamworth is a uniquely creative community with an amazing variety of community performing arts groups. Each group feeds into another and each group supports, whilst bringing it's own piquancy within this diverse community. We are proud that these performing arts groups enrich our city, offering diversity in areas of dance, drama, musical theatre, music and performance for all ages.
All groups welcome new members of all ages and experience and offer so much to the cultural fabric our city. We would like to introduce you to the many local community performing arts groups in our region.

Tamworth Dramatic Society (TDS)
About: Tamworth Dramatic Society is a group of friends who come together to create beautiful, ephemeral moments of live theatre in the Tamworth region and beyond. New member enquiries are welcome!
Tamworth City Dance Academy (TCDA)
About: TCDA is Tamworth's largest and longest running Dance and Performance school with studios in Tamworth and Quirindi. They are a member school of the highly respected Australian Teachers Of Dancing (ATOD) and Acrobatic Arts and their exam students earn internationally recognised qualifications. TCDA seek to create an inclusive dance community and offer classes catering to children as young as 18 months right through to Adults.

Tamworth musical society inc. (tms)
About: The Tamworth Musical Society has been providing musical theatre entertainment to the people of Tamworth since 1888. Currently, TMS produces two shows a year - one in May and another in October/November. New members are always welcome and the best way to become involved with TMS is to take part in one of their productions, either as an on-stage performer, part of the orchestra, creating costumes, building sets or working backstage. Memberships are available to Adults and Juniors (under 18 years).
Tamworth regional Conservatorium of music (The Con)
About: Tamworth Regional Conservatorium of Music is the premier music education facility in the Tamworth Region, and one of 17 Regional Conservatoriums in NSW. They provide outstanding instrumental and vocal tuition to approximately 700 students of all ages in the community of Tamworth and the region. Their highly skilled teachers provide individual, group and ensemble tuition to members of the community, ranging from early childhood to adult students, with programs designed to cater for a range of abilities from beginner to advanced.

The Studio Classical and Performing Arts
About: The Studio is quickly becoming the regions strongest provider of dance education, known for our technical precision and professionalism. The Studio, in both Tamworth & Barraba, is home to the regions most renowned dance teachers. The Studio is directed by Kristi Cini who has had an exciting professional career internationally after growing up in Tamworth. They bring a phenomenal wealth of knowledge and experience along with strong relationships with the leaders of our industry.
